Newsletter Issue 44

Hello everyone,

What a change in the weather!

Fingers crossed that something considerably warmer is coming our way for Monday! Our table outside is booked for 1.00 p.m. No laughing if it’s freezing cold and wet – we’re going whatever!

The virtual voting for the AGM is going well but there is still time if you haven’t already voted. As soon as we have the final figures, I will include all the information in the next newsletter. It will then be “all systems go” to get the club ready for re-opening. Alleluia!

We now have details of Ray Turner’s funeral. It will be on 16th April at 3.00p.m. Because of the current restrictions, thirty people only are allowed to attend. Pam has confirmed these places are now all filled.

However, there is a web link for those who would have wanted to pay their respects.

It is: www.obitus.com
The password is: 370026
Username: yomu3066

It will not be live until 3.00pm but it is possible to check in a short while before and apparently some little ducks should come up on screen.

Donations are to The British Heart Foundation Pam has been overwhelmed by the many cards and messages she has received and is very grateful for all your kind thoughts.

I hope you are all still well and looking forward to the gradual relaxing of lockdown. We have now had our second vaccination – all a little unexpected – we were called on Good Friday to see if we could get to the North Cotswold Hospital that afternoon.

It was rather short notice so we went on Saturday (just under eight weeks after our first). So we’re done and no side effects this time. Howard returned from a dog walk this afternoon overjoyed that he had seen his first two swallows of the summer!

Take care all,
Linda
