Newsletter Issue 108

Hi everyone,

Thankfully the rain did indeed come but not enough to spare us a hosepipe ban if you’re with Thames Water as we are!

Just four weeks to go now until the winter season begins. Don’t forget to pick up your registration documents from reception to save the expense of postage. Payment is due before you play your first game in the new season.

Also, if you haven’t already completed the questionnaire re: weekend bowling, then please do so asap. Forms are available at reception or you could use the interactive form in one of the previous newsletters. Please let us have your input so we can ascertain what the club members want going forward.

Talking about the new season, there are members looking for teams in which to play and captains looking for players to complete their teams.

The latest list of members looking for a team is as follows:

Graham Whiting on a Tuesday morning….. 07847 968273

Elaine Evans on a Friday afternoon or evenings….. 07789 383803 (I have enrolled Elaine for a Friday afternoon so she is maybe available for another evening)

John Mack on a Monday morning …… 07582 867072

Max Butler on a Friday afternoon ……. 01242 674712

John Prosser on s Wednesday morning …..01452 520150

Teams looking for players are as follows:

The Wickers on Tuesday afternoon at 1.30. Contact Kath on 07709 868730

Richmond’s on Monday afternoon at 1.30. Contact no. 01452 532007

Ralliors on Tuesday evening at 7.00. Contact Bruce Gavaron on 01452 502818

There are six teams only in this league including Ralliors. If this team cannot be completed, then the whole league would collapse which would be a shame.

For the next few weeks, I’ll keep my eye on the board and update you when I can of any changes.

Another successful quiz was held at the week-end. Thank you to all who helped in the running and to all who supported. The next one will be on Saturday 17th September just before the beginning of the new season on 19th. Your quizmaster will be Barrie assisted by Anne.

It was nice to see the Club very busy yesterday as our Friday night short-matters, the Gloster Knights, were hosting a short mat competition for teams from far and wide. It was very well organised and looked to be going extremely well. I hope it proved to be successful.

I think that’s all for now. You’ll be pleased to hear that your Chairman has, after four weeks of backwards and forwards to the nurse, been signed off fit and will be back bowling from today.

Take care, everyone,

Linda.
