Newsletter Issue 182

Hello,

As promised – the newsletter before we go away.

Yet more good news for our youngsters –

Finley Williamson won the Loddon Vale Open Singles last week-end winning seven games!

Quarter Finals 2-1 against Scott Evans

Semi Finals – 2-1 against Barry Jenkins

Final 2-0 against Mikey Titcombe

All three opponents are multiple winners of such titles. Brilliant effort from Finley!

Dylan Williamson lost in the quarter finals and Tom Evans lost in the last 16.

Well done to all of you! We’re very proud to have you as members of our club. Keep it going.

The third round of the Saturday Interclub took place today.

In the afternoon, Barnwood ladies beat MidGlos while Caer Glow ladies beat Cheltenham Town.

Barnwood will now go on to play MidGlos for 1st and 2nd place in the final also at 10.00 on 16th while Caer Glow and Cheltenham Town will play for 3rd and 4th place.

These games are played in whites over 16 ends.

On Wednesday morning least week, Audrey Marsden took home a MidGlos jacket with a brooch on it. If you have Audrey’s instead of yours, could you get in touch with reception to arrange a swap? Many thanks.

In April at the AGM we will need three new directors and a Club Secretary. Graham Whiting has put his name down with a proposer and seconder. We need two more, please. Kath will still be our Company Secretary but we still need a Club Secretary. If you are interested in this job, please see Angela Holbrook who will explain what is required. Basically, the main job is minute-taking at Board, Bowling Committee and GMC meetings with a little more but Angela will fill you in with the details.

I’m off to pack now for a week away at Potters. Irrespective of the outcome, we always have a good time. See you in a week.

Take care,

Linda
