Hello everyone,
Another busy week-end for MidGlos! However, before that, on Wednesday evening it was the second outing for MidGlos, this time against Bishop’s Cleeve when we won again. This Wednesday, we’re against Cheltenham Town when it will probably be a very different story. We’ll do our best, though.

Before I go on to this week-end’s matches, I must first send huge congratulations to our five youngsters who’ve got through to the under 18 Mixed international trials at Northampton on Sunday, 19th November. It is for selection for the u18s mixed England team to take part in the British Isles Championships in January in Wales. What an opportunity!

Well done to Louie Hodges, Josh Hodges, Dylan Williamson, Fin Williamson and Emily Burke – they are the future of our club!

On Saturday morning the Denny was being played against Oxford City and County IBC. It was a hard fought match which ended in a 76-83 defeat with Oxford winning three of the four rinks. Well played guys.

In the afternoon, there was a friendly against Dowty with MidGlos winning. Well done to all who took part.

On Sunday our under 30s were playing their second round against Solihull. It was a very exciting match with MidGlos coming out on top. Having watched the home match, I’d have to give “man of the match” to our lead, Louie Hodges. He played a very consistent game which bodes well for the trials on 19th. Well done to the whole team. Onwards and upwards to the next round!

Yet another busy week-end is coming up (I love it!). It’s the first of the Saturday Interclub matches when we are playing Cheltenham Spa at 10.00a.m. On Sunday Wessex A is playing Wessex B at 10.00a.m. Spectators are always welcome at these matches! Why not come along?

In the afternoon there is another friendly which, as of this Sunday, is six players short. Please sign up if you’re available.

We have a member who is desperate to find a team. His name is Richard Eeles. He was a member of Gloster Knights – the short mat club which used to meet at our club but folded recently. He has taken to our sport very well. He is available any time except Wednesdays. If you can accommodate him, please get in touch via the office. Many thanks.

As usual, keep checking the noticeboards – new stuff is appearing all the time.

In the meantime, take care,
Take care.

Linda
