Newsletter Issue 155

Hello again,

Normal timings resumed – no long week-end away but I did go car hunting – test drive later today!

Of the three options for the new club shirt, No. 1 was the outright winner.

When and if you come to order, you can opt for short or long sleeves (it is your choice). Personally, I shall go for one shirt of each. I believe Kath will be ordering a few sample sizes which will be available for you to see at the club in the near future.

If you have read the accompanying letter from the Chairman in your membership pack, you will see that there is a reminder of a request and need for more volunteers. The club does not run itself. We are all here to bowl but we all have to do our bit to both keep the club going and to grow it. Please do not leave it all to the few.

Howard mentioned that the current board will not be in place for ever. We are giving you plenty of notice to think about whether you could step up to the role of director. Please approach any one of us and we will be happy to guide you through the responsibilities. A director is in place for a term of three years. Four of us are already into our fourth year.

It is time for others to start thinking of taking over in order that the club continues to thrive. We have a great facility with a superb “family” of members. We need that family to pull together more and not leave all the onus on the few.

I wasn’t going to talk about the weather but, let’s hope that it turns a corner soon. June was so lovely but look what’s happened since!

Take care everyone,

Linda

Can names be printed on the shirts?
I also did not get a reply to my earlier question. Do we have 2 shorts? One for internal comps and one for matches against other clubs. If this is so then it is names on the match shirts that is more important
