I can’t believe it’s nearly Christmas again! This year has flown by. Even people of a younger age than the majority of the club are saying the same thing.
Our younger members and the future of our club are doing extremely well. Fin was invited to trial for the under 25s England team. He wasn’t successful this time but, since he is still only sixteen, he’s got many more opportunities.
On Saturday, Louie Hodges and Dylan Williamson were playing Australian pairs against Josh Hodges and another youngster from another club at Bristol. Louie and Dylan came away the victors with several notes each. Very well done to all four of you. That’s Christmas sorted!
The Saturday Interclub finals are taking place at 10.00a.m. this coming Saturday while the Wessex A and B teams are playing Cotswold B and A respectively at 10.00a.m. on Sunday. Bacon baps will be available on both days.
The club competitions are well under way. If you’ve entered, check the noticeboard for the play by date and make sure that you arrange your matches in time.
The Christmas Quiz is also this coming Saturday when Norman and Sheila Hancock will be hosting. I understand it will be Norman’s last quiz due to ill health. Our thanks go to both of them for all the work they’ve done over the years. It is by no means an easy task.
Christmas jumpers are encouraged but not compulsory.
