Newsletter Issue 69

Hello everyone,

After the sad news of Jim Geoghegan, I now have details of his funeral. It will take place at 1.00pm on Thursday 25th November at Coney Hill Crematorium, Gloucester.

Full fire service send off and afterwards at The New Dawn Inn Norton. Family flowers only. Donations to Myeloma U.K.

Unfortunately our men lost in the Denny on Saturday against Bristol so are now out of that competition. On Sunday MidGlos A played MidGlos B in the Wessex with the A team coming out on top. This is a round-Robin format so they will both go on to play again. It was just unfortunate that they had to play each other in the first round.

It is the turn of the ladies next. The Yetton is being played on 20th November at 10.00am against Cotswold – two rinks at home and two away. Spectators much appreciated!

However, on that same day the friendly game away to Welford is probably going ahead provided we can get enough support. If you are available and would like to play, please enter your name on the sheet posted in the club. Welford can provide sufficient players. It’s down to us to make it happen – 2.00pm start.

This Saturday afternoon the friendly against GL1 is being played at 2.00pm.

Don’t forget that it’s also the quiz in the evening. Our quiz master/mistress (goodness knows what the acceptable term is these days!) will be Sheila ably assisted by Steve Bluck.

I hope I’ve remembered everything. People throw bits of information at me in the week verbally forgetting that, when you reach a certain age (I’m 40 and a bit!) we need things in writing and in duplicate!

Take care, Linda.

Linda.
